Video of “stacking ceremony” at the start of construction in Frankfurt’s Platensiedlung

The housing company ABG has commissioned the Munich firm LiWooD to top up the 19 rows of houses making up the Platensiedlung estate in Frankfurt.
During the course of 2019, using their timber modules, LiWooD will add two more storeys each to the original three-storey houses previously used by the US army, thus creating some 380 new apartments.
To mark the start of construction, with modules being stacked on top of one another for assembly, a so-called "stacking ceremony" was held on 17th December 2018.
